a guide to personal branding, negotiating one’s worth and constructing a pitch.

What does it really mean to become a lady boss?
To be a lady boss means to know Who you are, What you're capable of, and What you want. A lady boss is a woman who is a master of herself and vision. She is a woman who knows her characteristics and traits; strengths and weaknesses; priorities and goals.
A Lady Boss is a woman with a plan and a woman of action.

Perhaps, such a term does not only apply to thriving women entrepreneurs but to ALL women who have big dreams in their respective careers and life goals and are willing to pursue such ambitions and take action!
Just as the 3Ws are identified in what defines a ladyboss, similarly, these are the big questions of personal branding.
"A set of characteristics that describes who you are (skills, values, passions, personality), what you represent as an individual (specialization, niche), and who you want to serve (audience, target market)" is what makes up personal branding."

It is essential to pin down these characteristics and plans in order to know more about one's identity and purpose; only then does one really become a #ladyboss and be able to bolster self confidence.

Last July 13, 2019, I was one of the 30 selected women to attend the SheTalksAsiaxBumble Tribe Meet Up. Speakers Arriane Serafico, Maxine Casaclang, Pam Begre, and Liz Lanuzo shared their insights and experiences on the topic: Negotiating Your Worth.
Here are some notes from the discussions:
1. Negotiation is like any other skill that can be learned and mastered overtime.
2. SheTalksAsia TMU speakers said that WORTH is talent & skills; time & energy invested; opportunity; a new skill to be learned; the community who supports you; those you collaborate/partner up with; and culture and environment. It is not just equated to money.
3. Benchmarking, consulting with mentors, and researching about your field of interest and industry competitors is necessary in order to be informed. It will also be your basis on how you’ll construct a strategy and approach (towards an audience/client/prospective partner).
4. Bumble Bizz encouraged one to “Make the first move” because wala namang mawawala sayo pagnagtanong ka as per Miss Iza Calzado Wintle.
5. There is strength in emotions. Know how to assert yourself.

Introducing: The Pitch
Part of negotiation is being able to deliver a pitch about your personal brand.
A pitch is a very short speech which introduces yourself, your background, and career aspirations delivered in a minute or less.

Such a pitch would require a good amount of confidence but most importantly, self-awareness.
A lady boss can only be successful with her pitch and negotiation if she knows her personal brand and has a clear vision of and for herself.
So let me ask you fellow lady boss, do you know your personal brand yet?
